On first glance this looks competitive, but on closer inspection quite a few are running badly and so it could be a very good chance for King Egbert to gain another success, Sir Loin and Betsen my provide most danger. Tony Carroll's five-year-old has been given a real chance by the handicapper. He ran second at Windsor last time in what looked a better race than this and has been dropped three pounds. He is one of the more consistent runners in the line up and looks the one to be on. Sir Loin disappointed at Catterick last time but is better judged on his previous victory at Wolverhampton. He still looks on a decent mark and could run into a place. Betsen may have gone off too fast at Beverley last time and if ridden with a little more restraint he could last out long enough to get involved in the finish. The others have plenty of duck eggs on show and so it doesn't look too difficult a task for our selection King Egbert.
