      Verdict

      Olivino has the experience to take care of the Blockley newcomers Naval Attache and Bentley Brook in a weak looking opener at the West Country track. Olivino was fairly useful on the Flat in Germany, winning four times in all, but failed to open his account on the level after joining Simon Dow. However, since being sent hurdling by his current trainer, the five-year-old has showed more sparkle of late, finishing runner-up on each of his last two starts, most recently over the course-and-distance a fortnight ago. It has to be said that he has not been highly tried, but has no more to do here, and should make experience count against his four rivals. The market will reveal which of the Paul Blockley duo is preferred the most, but on Flat evidence it is Bentley Brook that would have the edge. Both he and Naval Attache will no doubt be placed to good effect in time, but on this occasion it is Olivino that is the one to beat.
