In depth

Verdict

Aldbury Grey showed plenty on his debut and is given a confident vote to get off the mark here. Killarney Beauty and Loua are others to consider, while Ingratitude is bred to get better with age but is an interesting newcomer to take notes on for future reference. Loua has already had plenty of chances and is in danger of becoming frustrating. However, he has shown flashes of ability and looks sure to break his maiden at some stage. Killarney Beauty showed plenty of promise after a slow start on her introduction at Thirsk. She was eating up the ground near the finish on that occasion and looks set to appreciate the extra furlong today. However, preference goes to Aldbury Grey, who is already proven over the trip. The son of Alhaarth was not granted the clearest of runs when he was introduced at Doncaster but stuck to the task well the further he went. If anything that run will have taught him plenty about what is required from him and this looks a sound platform for Aldbury Grey to deliver the good on this time.
