Verdict
Ever Hopeful could be the answer in this tricky maiden and he is nominated over the likes of Mayaar and Socceroo. The selection put in her best effort yet when a very creditable second behind Ocean Glory at Warwick last time. She has trip and ground to suit here and she can finally get her head in front. The fly in the ointment could be Mayaar as Peter Chapple-Hyam's filly was a fair fourth behind Kashoof at Sandown last time. However, she may be best with a bit of cut in the ground and for that reason she is taken on. Socceroo ran out of steam over 6f at Wolverhampton last time so the drop in trip should suit here and he has to be considered on only his third start. Blue Jack is an interesting newcomer and is worth a look in the market, but Ever Hopeful showed enough last time to suggest that she can open her account today.
