      Verdict

It's difficult to ignore the claims of CAPTAIN LARS, who arrives on a four-timer without a penalty for last week's victory in an apprentice race at Goodwood and is reunited with regular partner Edward Greatrex. Tan has won three times this summer and again ran well in this grade at Ripon on Saturday so he'll ensure the selection doesn't have things his own way. Nibras Again was well supported when scoring at Haydock in August and showed his liking for fast ground when battling to victory at Bath, for which he's only been raised 2lb. Musharrif has been running well all summer and, though only successful once, has to be on the short-list along with the three-year-old Maygold, only 3lb higher than when scoring at Goodwood in May.
