Kempton winner George Morland looks nice prospect having found only one too good at Salisbury on his Turf debut. Dark Company was a progressive sort last year but Ilza'eem has a bit to prove having finished last at Wolverhampton. Qaasid has been gelded since winning at Kempton in November but there is no reason why he won’t act on this surface. Bertie's Wish was too keen when chasing a hat-trick at Ascot while Invincibly went close over this trip at Redcar. Frankie can afford to pick and choose his mounts nowadays and SEVENAL (NAP) is his only ride. John Gosden’s improver easily landed the odds at Windsor, despite hanging left, and gets cheekpieces today to aid the steering.
Ilza'eem (FR) 11-4 (9-3) Held up in midfield, ridden over 2f out, soon outpaced, eased inside final furlong, last of 7, 10 3/4l behind Summa Peto (8-11) at Wolverhampton 1m 1f hcp (3) pol in May.
Sevenal 4-5fav (9-1) Raced keenly tracking leader, edged left from inside final 2f, challenged and hung left entering final furlong, straightened and stayed on to lead final 100 yards, won at Windsor 1m stks (5) gd in May beating Eminent Hipster (9-1) by 1l, 11 ran.
Qaasid (IRE) 11-1 (9-2) Tracked leaders, pushed along 2f out, every chance in second 1f out, led inside final furlong, stayed on strongly, won at Kempton 1m stks (5) pol in Nov beating Orgetorix (9-6) by 1l, 13 ran.
George Morland 15-8fav (9-7) Prominent, led halfway, ridden 2f out, headed narrowly approaching final furlong when rider dropped whip, ran on, 2nd of 10, 1/2l behind Great News (9-2) at Salisbury 7f stks (5) gf in Apr.
Bertie's Wish (IRE) 13-2 (9-4) Steadied start and awkwardly away, raced keenly and soon chasing leaders, ridden over 1f out, weakened final furlong, 9th of 12, 5 1/4l behind Teodolina (9-7) at Ascot 1m hcp (4) gs in May.
Dark Company (IRE) 11-2 (9-6) Reared leaving stalls, in rear, switched wide and ridden over 2f out, ran on strongly final furlong, 3rd of 8, 2 1/4l behind Aerion Power (9-2) at Wolverhampton 7f (4) pol in Oct.
Siam Fox (IRE) 11-2 (9-7) Close up, ridden over 2f out, weakened final furlong, 6th of 8, 7 1/2l behind Patient Dream (9-3) at Epsom 1m 1f hcp (4) gd in Apr.
Invincibly (IRE) 13-2 (9-2) Close up and took keen hold, disputed lead when ridden after 2f out, every chance 1f out, kept on gamely, headed and held inside final 110 yards, 2nd of 9, 1/2l behind Maison de York (9-0) at Redcar 1m hcp (4) gf in Apr.
