Commitment Lecture has won his last two starts and is only 2lbs higher than when beating Ermine Grey over course and distance last time so has to be considered but marginal preference is for Rain Stops Play, who could not have been more impressive when scoring at Newmarket last time and he gets the vote to follow up at the main expense of Bridgewater Boys. The last mentioned also won last time, when successful in a similar contest at Beverley, for which he is now 4lbs higher and Kevin Ryan¿s gelding cannot be discounted. Parkview Love has more to do than when winning on the all-weather at Wolverhampton last time, while Guildenstern needs to improve on recent evidence to trouble the judge. Following Flow is strictly held by Commitment Lecture on running last time and of more interest may be Frank Jordan¿s old campaigner Libre, who has ground conditions to suit but is more exposed than most of these. The vote though goes to Mick Quinn¿s Rain Stops Play, who was an easy winner at Newmarket last time and is taken to defy his penalty.
