Namu deserves to win a race of this nature but the Barry Hills-trained filly had plenty of chances last term, five times finding the frame in seven starts, and is hard to back with confidence on her return so preference is for Cape, who gets the vote ahead of Felin Gruvy. The last mentioned is entitled to strip fitter for her reappearance run at Newbury and has every chance on official BHB ratings among those that have had enough experience to be given a mark. Rae Guest¿s Wendals would need to improve on all known evidence to trouble the judge and of more interest may be Henry Cecil¿s Cabriole, who has only had the one start so far and may be better than she showed on that occasion; however she is far from certain to go on today¿s ground. China Cherub should handle the underfoot conditions and trainer Henry Candy is quite capable of readying one first time out. James Fanshawe¿s Cape showed plenty of promise on her debut though and should have learned from that effort so she gets the vote.
