Carl's Boy is the pick in this lady riders' handicap hurdle that brings the curtain down on proceedings, with Temper Lad, Robbie On Tour and Seeador others in with a shout. Most of the leading girls take part here, with Emily Jones on board the fancied Carl's Boy, a winning point-to-pointer who shaped as though success under rules is just around the corner when chasing home Altitude Dancer at Exeter recently. The longer trip should help his cause, and he can go close to opening his account. Temper Lad's last win was for Philip Hobbs in 1999, and he has been keeping lowly company since joining his present stable. He has made the frame on each of his last two starts but has been absent since March. Robbie On Tour is nothing special but got within two lengths of the 90-rated Rosetown at Fontwell in January and has the ground in his favour, plus the assistance of David Pipe's girlfriend Lucy Bridges. Topweight Seeador has claims on past form, but we will take a chance on the stamina of Carl's Boy in an open affair.
