A good prize here and plenty of winners involved, but we can narrow it down to Alrida, Sardagna, Poc Fada and Football Crazy, and the vote goes to Alrida. Richard Fahey is going great guns at present and Alrida has been part of that success, taking a decent hurdle at Market Rasen last month before beating 18 opponents in the Goodwood Stakes last time. Clearly in great heart, he still looks to have more to come in this sphere and provided there is not too much more rain at the track then he can land the prize. Sardagna receives weight from the selection and should go well. Martin Pipe's filly has run up a confidence-boosting hat-trick in minor company and steps up in class for this. She will have to improve again to take this and while that is not beyond her she may have to settle for a place. Poc Fada is another Christy Roche raider at the meeting and looks booked for a good showing if his recent Sligo win on good to yielding ground is anything to go on. That seven length success came after a two year absence and provided he doesn't 'bounce' then he won't be far away. Of the others, we could make a case for Football Crazy, who handles the ground and trip well, is in tremendous form, and may be able to handle another 6lb for his latest Worcester win. It is a tough call to oppose him and he can be closest to our selection, who just looks to have a little more to come, and that is Alrida.
