In depth

Verdict

A trappy affair and we take Genghis to take this at the principal expense of Ease The Way and Najca De Thaix. Genghis has proved a little difficult to win with of late and he managed yet another placing last weekend. Granted, he isn¿t as good over chase fences as hurdles but he¿ll do well to find such a moderate contest for tonight¿s money. Ease The Way is on a long losing run. The handicapper appears predictably slow to let him back down the lsdder. Najca De Thaix is very interesting. Sold for just 7,000 guineas at the Doncaster sales, he is a proven mudlark and the market has to be closely watched. Smoke Trail hasn¿t shown a lot but was backed heavily at Uttoxeter albeit on good to firm ground. Glengarra is probably better on a quicker surface but has claims on a third to Roman Villa at Warwick in December. Hasanpour is better over further. Genghis gets the call in a hard race for punters.
