Passing Call wouldn’t be winning out of turn having finished second in five of her six starts over hurdles and third in the other. But she may find one too good again in the shape of EMPREINTE RECONCE (NAP), a highly-regarded daughter of Voix Du Nord who was bought privately by J P McManus after winning a minor contest in France in April of last year. She was odds-on for her UK debut in a Newbury bumper in December and travelled strongly until lack of condition told. Bred for jumping, she should be seen in a better light today. Another hurdling debutante, Firmage Burg, also wears the McManus colours and showed some ability on the Flat. Passing Dream won a small race at Towcester last month and Admiral's Sunset and Port Royale may be capable of better.
