Plumpton winner Lava Lamp didn't do a lot wrong when runner-up to Carter at Stratford nine days ago, though has further to travel here. Big Robert has a little to prove, however, having disappointed when favourite at Hereford last time having won easily in handicap company at the same track earlier and he may lack the scope of JOKER CHOKER. Nicky Henderson's six-year-old comfortably overturned bumper form with Mawsem over C&D last month and has clearly improved for the step up in distance. Resolute Road was placed a couple of times on the Flat and may be capable of better over timber but Maadraa, second over 2m1f here in March, looks a better bet on this occasion.
