In depth

Verdict

Le Forezien is an obvious contender dropping slightly in trip however MOON MELODY's Fakenham win is more taking and he is selected ahead of Sir Bumble and Behind The Scenes. Evan Williams' gelding was well-held behind Gaining Ground at Fontwell last time out but his hurdling win at Fakenham earlier that month is solid. Racing off the same mark of 76 he is expected to appreciate the return to a more suitable trip and on ground that suits should be in the mix. Sir Bumble's second to Clifden Boy here reads well and he is considered although he finds it hard to win, Hazelbury is very well-treated on her old form as she returns from two years off the track, whilst Mandalay Bay is another who looks well-handicapped and well-weighted for a big run despite being out of the hadnciap. Post It was well-fancied at Hereford last month but failed to fire and he needs to improve (held by Sir Bumble on recent form), whilst Behind The Scenes belied his odds at Folkestone in May and this ex-Irish son of Presenting looks a big player. Another open handicap where the most tentative of nominations is given to Moon Melody.
