Major Cadeaux, Munaddam and Mine are the three to look at in a competitive affair, with Mine taken to pull off a minor surprise at his favourite track. Major Cadeaux has excellent credentials, having run very well in the 2,000 Guineas, finishing sixth behind Cocknew Rebel. He had earlier taken the Greenham at Newbury in taking style and had earlier shown he can handle an easy surface when scoring on his debut. He must go well after a break, but may start at a false price against older opponents here. Munaddam had a prolific winter in Dubai, winning twice and finishing second. He then made the step up to Listed company in this country at Haydock last month, scoring in good fashion. However, the best of his form has come on a faster surface than he encounters here, and he is opposed. Mine has won here three times in eight attempts, only once finishing out of the frame, and he has won the Bunbury Cup here for the last two years. His ascent to Pattern company looked inevitable, and he duly took a Listed race at Haydock last time. He handles a softer surface, and is likely to go off at a decent price with many still regarding him as merely a handicapper. Mine can make those people review their opinion here.
