Verdict

Munsef, Hard Top and Group Captain are the three to consider here for another Listed affair, and Munsef looks set to continue on winning ways. Although unsuccessful since taking the November handicap, Group Captain ran his best race this season when finishing less than a length behind Peppertree Lane at Newbury in a similar affair. That was the only occasion this term he has encountered his preferred soft ground and another good showing is anticipated. Hard Top has not progressed since taking the Great Voltigeur at York two years ago, failing to win since. He failed to justify favouritism in a little conditions race at Lingfield two outings ago, and it is hard to see him bouncing back here. Munsef is another who has undergone a winless run of well over a year and a half, but he ended that poor sequence when landing the odds in fine style at Goodwood last time. That was a very encouraging effort from a talented type who can now perhaps go on and justify his potential. Munsef gets the vote in an intriguing affair.
