In this two-mile event, Dr Sharp gets the call ahead of Trance and Sir Monty. Dr Sharp would hold good claims if replicating his Cesarewitch third of last time, so can go well today, while Trance was a good fifth in the same contest. Colloquial has shown enough in a fairly light career to be given some thought even off topweight. Nation State is a potential improver on Turf on the Flat so watch the betting, while Most Definitely has won from higher ratings in the past but has been beaten from around today's mark more recently. Salute is inching his way back to form and is not ruled out of a place, while Sir Monty is only a pound above his course and distance winning mark of August, which came on soft going, so holds claims based on that form-book evidence, but is closely weighted with Mersey Sound based on that effort. The lightly-raced Particle could be interesting stepped up in trip, while Kayf Aramis's narrow defeat by Esprit de Corps last time reads well, but he remains hard to actually win with. Gee Dee Nen is another that could appreciate being stepped up to today's trip, while Sybella is another that is lightly raced and open to improvement and, finally, a five pounds rise for his Warwick soft-ground win might not stop At The Money from running well. Once again, in what is another competitive handicap, the selection is Dr Sharp.
