In depth

Verdict

The short list here contains Jeanmaire, College Scholar and Dream Scheme, with the selection being Jeanmaire. Jeanmaire has longsince left us with the impression that she is capable of winning a race of this nature, if not better. She will rarely get a better chance and, coming into this race on the back of a close-up eighth place in a course and distance Listed race, she ought to go well today. The upside to Dream Scheme's debut win is that she left a very good impression in winning, having shown a good turn of foot to do so. The downsides are that she did not beat a strong field and the time was slow. That said, she still rates as interesting among the juveniles running in this race. College Scholar ran well to be fifth in Redcar's Two-Year-Old Trophy last time and could go well, while Ebn Reem has shown enough to be considered but the others need to show improved form if they are to play a big part in this race, we feel. Once again, then, the selection is Jeanmaire.
