This is a hugely competitive handicap in which Ripples Maid, One More Round, Ingleby Arch and Trafalgar Bay are all considered with the vote given to the first mentioned. Australian jockey Hugh Bowman is creating a favourable impression since he arrived from Down Under and this could be another winner for him. The selection has course and distance form and she won in cosy fashion last time at Newbury when she beat Intrepid Jack. She is a relatively lightly-raced sprinter and she looks the one to beat. One More Round has been contesting some pretty hot races of late and he needs to be produced late and fast. If he gets the gaps at the right time then he could be capable of making the frame. Ingleby Arch has ground conditions to suit and he should be capable of better than he showed at York last time when he was denied a clear run in a race won by Wyatt Earp. Trafalgar Bay shaped with plenty of promise on his seasonal return at Ascot on a soft surface and he should be seen to better effect on this quicker ground. Jeremy Noseda has his string in good form at present so Two Step Kid could go well at a price, but Ripples Maid looks progressive and can land the prize.
