Verdict

ALPINISTA (NAP) has improved with every start this year and followed a Listed success at Salisbury with a second in the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks on the Knavesmire last month. Sir Mark Prescott’s filly was no match for the high-class Love on that occasion but should have the measure of these with a similar effort. Franconia ran no sort of race behind the selection last time but won a Listed contest before that and Katara took another step forward with an easy Listed success on the July course here. Antonia De Vega is another to consider having returned to action with a victory at Pontefract and makes more appeal than Sea of Faith and Queen Daenerys with more to come from her.
