Straitouttacompton completed a Southwell double in February then won with a bit in hand at Leicester in June. He's only 3lb higher and should handle the easier ground conditions. Jackamundo has a course and distance victory to his credit on heavy ground and is 5lb lower though disappointed when favourite at Redcar last month. SIR CHARLES PUNCH has performed with credit in two recent starts on soft ground here, the latest despite losing a shoe. He's taken to get off the mark at the tenth time of asking though Vulcan is respected after losing his maiden tag here a couple of weeks ago and Silent Performance should have further improvement in her.
