BLUE POINT showed further progress to win the Gimcrack Stakes at York in fine style beating Mokarris three lengths with subsequent Group 3 winner The Last Lion back in third and recent valuable sales race winner Mubtasim further behind. That looks strong form and Charlie Appleby’s colt is taken to reverse earlier running with Mehmas. The latter beat the selection in the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood in July and had earlier beaten Intelligence Cross and Silver Line to land the July Stakes here before that. Medicine Jack just got the better of Peace Envoy in a Group 2 at the Curragh back in June but both have been beaten at the highest level subsequently while Koropick has plenty to find with The Last Lion.
