Tiamo can complete a hat-trick in the finale, with Bronwen, Annambo and Queen of Iceni all out to stop him. Tiamo has really come to himself since being stepped up in trip, scoring at Goodwood and Catterick. Mark Tompkins' colt got up to beat Tarabut at the Sussex track, prompting the trainer to say that he would stay further. This he did when following up at Catterick over two miles on what was only his seventh career start. He is improving in leaps and bounds and the slight drop back in trip will not phase the three-year-old who looks to have a bright future. Who knows, he could turn into a Cesarewitch candidate one day, but in the meantime he should prove tough to beat today. Bronwen has been a model of consistency, but was beaten at odds-on in a 12 furlong Folkestone handicap last time and is not proven over this trip. Annambo just managed to hold on here last time and will probably appreciate the slight drop back in trip, so should be in the shake-up, while Queen of Iceni gets weight all round and is bred to stay. All in all, an interesting contest can go the way of the improving Tiamo.
