      Verdict

Gringo looked on the upgrade last time and can follow up, with Royal Jet, Mickehaha and Mossman Gorge making for a competitive handicap. Gringo has shown improved form since being stepped up in trip on faster ground, and having produced a gutsy effort to score by a head at Nottingham in maiden company last month, Barry Hills's colt now steps up to 10 furlongs on his handicap debut. On breeding, he should be fully effective at today's trip, and off a mark of 69, appears well enough treated to side with here. Royal Jet got going too late when second at Redcar last time and will benefit from being closer to the pace. He can go well along with Mickehaha who carries a small rise for his Nottingham victory. Mossman Gorge was unlucky in running at Chepstow on his latest outing, and is interesting over this longer trip as well, but we prefer to side with Gringo, who has the scope to improve again.
