Cosimi de Medici won this two years ago and gained his first subsequent success at Southwell last month for which he's been raised an astonishing 10lb. Burnham has only had a couple of starts beyond 1m4f and has yet to prove himself at anywhere near the trip while Nashville, who had looked progressive when scoring twice last month, was soon struggling at York last time though that wasn't his form. The latter race was won by EAGLE ROCK, who finished third in this a year ago. Tom Tate's charge was given a positive ride by the side-lined Franny Norton on the Knavesmire and similar tactics can pay off here. Among the numerous dangers are Arch Villain and Oriental Fox, who fought out the finish of a similar class race at Goodwood in May and are confirmed stayers, and the latter's stablemate Broxbourne who has won three handicaps at this level already this summer.
