Verdict

Dusk did not progress as much as may have been anticipated from his first start when disappointing in a Newbury maiden last time and a safer bet looks to be Tomintoul Flyer, who gets the vote over Trudder. The last mentioned is bred to be useful and it will be interesting to see how the market shapes up for Peter Chapple-Hyam's colt. Fearless Warrior looks the second string of the two John Dunlop runners, while General Tufto would need to improve for his debut effort to take a hand. Michael Bell's Great Charm is bred to be useful but may do better over further next season, while Metaphorical may prefer a softer surface to show his best form. The vote then goes to Henry Cecil's Tomintoul Flyer who showed plenty of promise on his debut over course and distance and he should have learned from that experience so gets the verdict to open his account here.
