Perle D'Or is already a prolific filly, but there is good reason to believe she hasn't stopped improving yet so is taken to defy topweight here. Willie Haggas' charge, a winner of her first three races last year, kicked off in similar vein this term when landing a Windsor Classified Stakes by a cosy two and a half lengths. Amazingly, the handicapper has decided not to penalise her in the weights for that success, she clearly goes well fresh and looks banker material here. Namathej is a lightly-raced filly with scope, but she was running on over 11 furlongs at Redcar last time and this drop back in trip is unlikely to suit. Vamp was a shade unlucky at Sandown when second last time out and probably rates a bigger danger, while the likes of Noora and Prenup are both capable of stepping up on their seasonal debuts, but Perle D'Or is the one for us.
