After 118 runners ploughing their way up the far side it is safe to assume the ground will have become very testing by now. J R Stevenson will not mind the soft ground, but he is a hold up horse who will need plenty of luck in running, while Cassirer, who won his maiden last back-end, is another who is effective under these conditions. He comes into this a fresh horse and should run well. Thaqib, Anne Tudor and Internationalguest are others to consider, but the unlucky Labrett is given one more chance. He ran as well as ever over this course earlier in the month where he lost more ground at the start than he was beaten. He will have Richard Quinn, who rode him for the first time that day back on board, will not mind underfoot conditions and is drawn in the middle of the field, so he should be able to choose where he goes.
