MONTPARNASSE is 10lb lower than when a close-up fifth in this last year. Mark Johnston's gelding hasn't won this year but has gone close on a couple of occasions, including over 2m at Ripon in April, and could be the one today. Cosimo De Medici was given too much to do when fifth to Hollins at Goodwood in July but won over a shorter trip here next time and has to go on the short-list, while French Hollow deserves a try at this higher level having completed his hat-trick ahead of Eshtyaaq and Rosewin at Chester four weeks ago. My Arch has plenty of stamina but Gordonsville doesn't appear the force of old and Haydock winner Palazzo Bianco's stamina has to be taken on trust over this trip, though he does have plenty of scope. Mohanad is consistent but there are probably others better treated at the weights.
