It may be worth taking a chance with Mikao despite some modest efforts of late; Sleepy Hollow and Jadaara are two with leading claims. The selection hasn't won for two years and the fitting of blinkers has failed to bring about any noticeable improvement on his last two starts. Therefore, he's clearly a risky proposition but his stable is going well, he's slipped to his lowest mark for three years, his last two wins came over course and distance and he'll handle the conditions. Jadaara and Sleepy Hollow are both in the early stages of their careers and should have more to offer. The former needs to improve on the form of her two starts this term but with her stable in better form now there's every chance that she may be able to do so. The latter's maiden win came in soft ground and he comes into the race on the back of a decent effort at Ascot. Invasion should be in the shake-up and Just Two Numbers has possibilities if he sees out this longer trip but we'll select Mikao in the hope that he can bounce back to form.
