Luca Cumani has been back amongst the winners this week and can follow up with Mandatum, whose scope for improvement edges him the vote over Topkat and Dancing Lyra. That is not to total dismiss the claims held by Lets Roll, who is respected in this company despite being set to carry top weight. However, he gave the impression that the handicapper is in control in his latest start and others look better treated at present. Dancing Lyra is a consistent type that can be relied upon to run his race. He should be thereabouts. However, he does have a bit to prove with Topkat, who is fancied to provide the selection with most to do. The David Elsworth-trained gelding should have few problems with the trip and, with his yard in fair form, a bold bid is anticipated. However, Mandatum has a touch more scope for improvement over the distance and looks a typical type that Cumani does well with at this time of the season.
