A high-class renewal of this Listed prize can go to Frizzante, who, as a lightly raced filly with a blistering turn of foot, may be too hot to handle for some of these old-hands at this level. These include Bahamian Pirate, who finally ended his losing run when Johnny Murtagh got the best out of him at Nottingham last time. The nine-year-old is a consistent sort but has continually found a few too good at this level. The same comments apply to Ashdown Express, who will have benefited from his reappearance run but has plenty on in giving weight to all bar one of his rivals today. Suggestive also has a run under his belt and can play leading role if he does not leave himself with too much to do inside the final furlong. As could The Kiddykid, who does not know how to run a bad race but, like Crimson Silk, has a little to find in this company. Therefore, a bigger danger to the selection is represented by Arakan, who was placed in three Group races last term and is also very lightly campaigned for a horse of his age and ability. The Nureyev colt has a high cruising speed and should have no problem with the drop back in trip today. He also escapes any penalties and will be a very difficult rival to master when he really gets down to business near the finish. This contrasts Frizzante, who picks up 4lb for winning a Listed race over course and distance last October. However, she has not finished improving yet and could easily shrug off the burden today. Frankie Dettori is an obvious plus for Frizzante and, as the daughter of Effisio is expected to be available at a much bigger price than Arakan, she looks the bet in a tricky race to fathom. Fanshawe's charge held her own in top handicaps last year and could easily have too much toe for the rest over, what is, her ideal trip today. The 6lb Group-race penalty could do for Bonus but he is an interesting horse for this season - even though he looks to be up against it here.
