MALDON PROM gets the nod ahead of Drift And Dream, Black Baccara and Athwaab. The last named has been stepped up in grade after a series of good efforts on the all-weather. She is a game filly but appears to have reach a rocky plateau in terms of handicapping - others may have her measure at this level. Black Baccara showed good speed to beat Tom Folan on her solitary start as a juvenile. She may be the 'dark horse' in this company but does need to step things up considerably to maintain her unbeaten status. Drift And Dream looks a sure-fire winner in the making and it might just simply be a matter of time as far as Chris Wall's gelding is concerned. However, Maldon Prom has the best form on offer and, having gone agonisingly close at Yarmouth last month, the top weight has already shown that he's in the right frame of mind to make this a tough test for the rest.
