A really competitive handicap in which several of the 20 runners hold claims including Topton, Ali D and Tiber Tiger but the vote just goes to Everest. The selection has caught the eye of the stewards on more than one occasion this term, normally goes best at this time of the year and Brian Ellison's gelding has slipped to a mark some 7lbs lower than when last successful. Iskander has been running consistently well of late and should be thereabouts again along with Vince Smith's Juste Pour L'Amour, for who the booking of Johnny Murtagh takes the eye. Foolish Groom has more to do under a penalty for his win at Haydock last time and of more interest may be Topton, who was narrowly beaten here last week. Jeremy Noseda has his string in good form so Rashida has to be respected along with Michael Blanshard's Pella, who is open to further improvement after just two starts this term. Kabis Amigos is a rare runner in a sprint handicap for Henry Cecil, while Ali D has been holding his form well and has to be considered. Tiber Tiger is gradually dropping to a fair mark but he is not as well treated as Everest, who gets the vote to win a tough contest.
