Not many three year-olds have contested this race but a few have gone close and Cool Judgement is certainly of interest with the step up in trip sure to suit but the classic generation's record is offputting and he's passed over in favour of COME ON JONNY. The selection missed the whole of 2007 and has even had a couple of runs over hurdles but he was a useful performer in 2006, has a decent strike rate and looked to be on the way back when finishing second at Windsor last time. The ground was faster than ideal there but he should have his optimum conditions this afternoon and is attractively weighted. That comment also applies to Profit's Reality who wasn't beaten far into sixth in that race at Windsor despite pulling for his head early on. He's yet to win beyond ten furlongs but has made the frame over twelve and has his ground whilst the booking of Darryll Holland takes the eye. John Terry also featured in that Windsor race and he won this contest last year from a 4lb lower mark but he could have his work cut out to follow up. Candle rates a mention as does Abandon who failed to give her running in a Listed race last time, Horseford Hill is relatively unexposed and could feature but of more interest is Tifernati. He's developed into a consistent performer and has a progressive profile but he doesn't appear to relish too much cut in the ground and could find conditions here against him. They should be ideal for Come on Jonny though and he is preferred.
