        Verdict

        Some quality types line up for this one and a half mile maiden and Balance of Power, Bay Hawk and Gawain can fight it out, with Balance of Power, who made a terrific debut here, getting a confident nod. Marcus Tregoning fields Gawain, who was beaten narrowly on his debut at Warwick. It was only a little race, and although it was a decent effort, you get the feeling this will be far tougher. Andrew Balding¿s Bay Hawk has made only one appearance, but that was a very good display, finishing a staying on third in a good class Salisbury contest. He hasn¿t been seen for over a year though, and is likely to be fitter next time. Balance of Power ran a great race at Newmarket on his debut, getting within a neck of the battle hardened Clueless here last month. He was staying on at the finish and he looks an exciting prospect. Balance of Power can take control.
