ALMAGEST is obviously a risky recommendation on this first run since last autumn but retains plenty of scope for further improvement and it's interesting that the Gosden team reach for first time blinkers on this comeback run. Trip and ground are ideal and the son of Galileo is taken to score and may then progress to better things. Carragold is a worthy northern raider for the Brittain team and his consistency should serve him well off a fair mark but the main threat may come from the sole three-year-old in David Simcock's Sheikhzayedroad. He's two from four to date and along with the selection has room for considerable progress although this is by far the quickest ground he's encountered to date. Proud Chieftain has place claims.
