In depth

Verdict

Basanti gets our vote here ahead of Charming Tale and Aura. This is similar to the opener in being tricky to assess, and this is backed up by the stats as two 20/1 shots and two 16/1 chances have won this race within the last six runnings. Once again, some potential major players are Sir Michael Stoute's 115,000 guineas purchase, Aura; Barry Hills' 260,000 guineas daughter of Galileo, Basanti, and Brian Meehan's well-related Charming Tale. Once again, there are other big-name stables also represented in this race - Sir Michael Stoute and John Gosden have four runners in the race between them, for example - and, also, the betting might tell us more so, for a tentative nomination, we put up Basanti.
