Ridge Dance is favoured by the weights on official ratings here and from an in form yard he can score, while Kandahar Run looks set to be his chief rival. The John Gosden-trained selection steps up to this trip from a mile and his dam was related to a middle distance winner in Germany, so there is plenty of evidence to suggest that he will see out the trip well. Good ground suits, and being by Selkirk he won't mind any rain that falls before Saturday either, and he looks capable of taking this. Kandahar Run was a half length second to Camponologist in the Listed Fielden Stakes over 9f here in April and appears to act on most ground. Like the Gosden yard, Henry Cecil has his string in fine fettle and this Rock Of Gibraltar colt looks the likely big danger to the selection. Meeris won in Listed company at Goodwood last year but now looks to have a stiff task at these weights, while Better Hand flopped badly over this trip at Newbury last time, though we may see a better showing on this ground. Ridge Dance, though, is the one for us.
