A typically tough opener can go to Aberdovey, who is proving to be consistent and can put her proven stamina for the trip to good use to get the better of Wedding Party and Caitlin, who should be more than capable of making a race of it. So too should Dance Flower, who is closely matched with the selection on raw talent but will find the concession of 4lb a hard barrier to overcome today. Icing also appears to be going the right way and holds sound place claims on these terms. Caitlin has fared well in the face of some stiff tests of late and has shown a god attitude in defeat in both her last two starts. She was not beaten far by some very progressive rivals and another bold bid cannot be ruled out from her today. Wedding Party has a similar profile in that she is developing nicely and should be capable of winning more races. However, the fact that Kieren Fallon deserts her for Dance Flower has to be seen as a negative and she is reluctantly passed over for win only purposes today. Which brings us back to Aberdovey, who represents good value if she can repeat the effort of her Doncaster run today. Richard Mullen got on well with her when they were paired off at Town Moor earlier this month and a similar effort can be enough to see her home today.
