A tricky race to call, but Short Dance, Felicitous and Wasseema look the trio to concentrate on - with only a tentative nomination given to Short Dance. The selection got the hang of things to really catch the eye in the latter stages of her debut. And is very much expected to be a lot wiser this time around. However, it will be no cakewalk for the daughter of Hennessy and she will need to be a bit sharper from the stalls today. Felicitous can also be expected to have learnt a great deal from her course and distance bow last month and will no doubt attract the housewives 'Frankie pound'. There are several winners in her pedigree and she can be expected to be paying her way before too long. Her lack of public entries is a little off-putting even though it will hardly stretch her owners to supplement her at a later stage. By way of contrast, Fillies Mile entry Wasseema will be perilous to underestimate. Sir Michael Stoute's newcomer is a half-sister to a sprint winner in the United States and her dam was also effective over six furlongs. As a $5000,000 purchase, the clock is obviously ticking for this January foal to deliver, so a strong market move will be very tempting for many to switch allegiances. However, Short Dance, who is a possible the Cheveley Park Stakes, has the vital edge in terms of experience and, with her yard in cracking form, she just gets the vote at this early stage of her development.
