Nayyir is sure to be popular with backers here following his success at Epsom but Gerard Butler's gelding may struggle to give weight away all round and preference is for New Seeker, who is taken to confirm Haydock form with Somnus and Suggestive. The last mentioned disappointed that day and is hard to recommend on that evidence, while Somnus is a much better horse with plenty of cut in the ground and is readily passed over on this surface. Mac Love needs to improve on this season's evidence, while Bahia Breeze has more to do than when successful at Pontefract last time. Sir Xaar cannot be completely ruled out but New Seeker was unfortunate to come up against a rejuvenated Quito at Haydock and with trip and ground conditions to suit he gets the vote.
