MELGATE MAJEURE opened his account with a victory over 7f here when giving the impression this longer trip would suit. The runner-up has won twice since so the form looks solid and Mick Easterby’s charge gets the nod to defy a 6lb rise. My Ukulele also won over 7f here earlier and has subsequently finished in front of Klipperty Klopp though the latter was narrowly beaten back at the track last time. Red Phoenix posted a better effort over today’s trip at Kempton on his handicap bow and looks a threat for Mark Johnston’s yard.
