Cheery Cat is taken to get the better of Handsome Falcon and Bid For Gold in this wide open contest where a number of runners can be given a chance of sorts. Top weight Handsome Falcon scored on his Beverley debut as a two-year-old, and ran well in defeat at Ripon last time, going down by less than a length. Being a son of Kyllachy he should enjoy the give underfoot and can go well. Bid For Gold lost his maiden tag at Redcar two outings ago, and ran well in defeat on a softer surface at Leicester last time. The balance of his form is better on a quicker surface and he is opposed. Cheery Cat landed a gamble at Pontefract on Sunday on a similar surface to today's and it appears significant that he is turned out under a penalty. His success at the Yorkshire track was decisive, and Cheery Cat is taken to keep his supporters happy.
