The Michael Dods-trained Divine Spirit handled the cut in ground better than expected here last month but the going is more testing today and a better bet looks to be SEA CREST, who gets the vote over Captain Royale. The son of Captain Rio lost no caste in defeat here over six furlongs behind Lake Chini recently and Tracy Waggott's gelding has to be respected on ground that suits but he is probably better over further. Tim Easterby's Bravely is hard to back on recent form, while Ann Duffield's Sharp Shoes has yet to win after 13 starts and looks booked for a place at best. Sleepy Blue Ocean has yet to prove his effectiveness on ground this soft and a safer option looks to be Sea Crest. Mel Brittain's filly has run well on soft ground before, including in a Ripon maiden last time, and she can give Paul Hanagan another winner and she can open her account.
