In depth

Verdict

A quality race where LOVELACE is preferred to Dream Lodge and Nasri. The selection is now trained by Dandy Nicholls and this talented son of Royal Applause is fancied to run well. His recent third in a Listed race at Wolverhampton reads well after a spell in Dubai and he is fancied to oblige on his first start for a new yard. Lucky Dance and Snow Bay have plenty to find on the ratings, so a bigger threat may be Nasri who has his first run for David Simcock today. The trainer has started the season well and this enigmatic horse has the class to win this if on song. Souter's Sister gets weight from her rivals and the filly is not discounted, along with Dream Lodge who represents the most in-form yard around and despite having a penalty to carry he is considered a big player. However he has never won before June and so we are happy to return to Lovelace as the selection.
