High-class stayer Trueshan could only manage sixth in this handicap last year behind third-placed Island Brave. The latter finished in front of several of these on that occasion including Rajinsky and can race off a lower mark today. Red Verdon also has claims on an earlier second at Wolverhampton while Onesmoothoperator finished a creditable third over track and trip at the All-Weather Championships and is another to consider. Haydock winner Valley Forge is preferred to both stablemate Spirit Mixer and the Godolphin entry Bandinelli while Tribal Art may prove best of his yard’s three runners but SUMMER’S KNIGHT (NAP) will be sharper for last month’s reappearance. Progressive last year when winning five times, the latter failed to take up an entry in the Ascot Gold Cup earlier in the month but Sir Mark Prescott’s charge is expected to run a big race here stepping up in trip.
