Verdict

Tomasino looked a shadow of his former self when disappointing on his return at York two weeks ago and Eton is taken to confirm running on the Knavesmire with Mary Reveley's gelding. The selection was given a good ride from the front by Alex Greaves at York and on just 2lbs worse terms for 13 lengths he should have little difficulty in getting the better of his main rival again. Lord Lamb, a stablemate of Tomasino, has been a good servant to Mary Reveley but the 12-year-old probably needs further these days and of more interest may be the four-year-old Hearthstead Dream, who receives weight from all of his rivals and is unexposed over middle distances. Romil Star and Paddy Mull have both been running well of late but this represents a stiffer assignment for the pair of them at these weights and preference is for Eton.
