Verdict

ROCKET ROD returned a surprise winner over track and trip when scoring from out of the handicap. An apprentice’s allowance negates a chunk of hike in the weights though he needs to reverse earlier running here with Odd Socks Havana. The latter is 6lb higher than when last successful while Fergie Time debuts on the all-weather having gone close at Hamilton last week. Distinction has a shout dropping back down in distance and looks best of the rest.
