An interesting maiden can go to Bubbling Fun who gets the vote over Safirah, Lady Karr and Mac's Elan. Bubbling Fun has certainly had plenty of opportunities up to now, finding one or two too good on a number of occasions, but should at least have the edge in experience. Ed Dunlop's filly has been beaten by decent opponents lately and showed that she could handle soft ground when second to Reem One at Hamilton the time before last. The dam is a half-sister to an Irish St Leger winner so there should not be a stamina problem and she looks set to go close again. Safirah's second to Marias Magic at Bath was given a boost when the third home, Swift Sailor, obliged at Musselburgh on Sunday, so she is entitled to be in at the finish as well. Lady Karr was just behind the selection at Newcastle, but as that was only her second outing, she is another danger. Mac's Elan was no match for the odds-on Thistle at Windsor but the form may not be that good, while Classic Event has more to do than at Thirsk but should handle the ground. In what could turn into a close encounter, Bubbling Fun is the pick.
